Carnivore

It's true, I made that beef and broccoli last me for three suppers, but by tonight it was quite a lot of broccoli to two meagre slices of beef. And that was with finishing up the beef bourguignon along with yesterday's serving. And that was with not chopping ice yesterday. (Didn't I? I don't think I did.) Did today, of course. I hope this craving for cow owes something to my lumberjack's lifestyle and the by turns freezing cold/ dankly chill winter we're having.

It's not just any cow, either. Do Not Want hamburger in any permutation, or steak, or roasts. Want stewing beef, stewed. Warming, filling, protein-rich, with veg included. Oy vey.

(Of course, now I want sushi as dessert. Shall finish the wonton soup instead.)

For the nourishment of the mind as opposed to the body... Sherlock season 3 is due to come out on DVD on the 20th. Would you be interested in a copy?

Hm- would I? I couldn't watch The Reichenbach Fall and gave up after three attempts. Anvil-heavy hints of Everything Will Go Wrong; Moriarty being vomitous; and the wiki writeup, when consulted, suggests the plot makes absolutely no sense at all. (Mind, wiki plot writeups tend to do that anyway, and not just with Dr Who.)

I suppose the question is, just how Moffattish is Moffatt being in this one?

Hm. I rather enjoyed The Reichenbach Fall, so I may be the wrong person to advise you here. There is a strong emphasis on relationships, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'll see how it looks in the shops when it comes out and if they're doing any two-for-one offers. :)

Jumping in here because I am curious ... it's coming out on DVD so quick???

They just aired the three S 3 eps on the BBC right, and it's yet to come out (legally) in Asia. ... I've been avoiding forums like crazy to avoid spoilers ... but everyone ... (including my daughter) has seen them already. Gahhh..

Hmmm one wonders the possibility of psyching hubby into an early Mother's Day gift ... *ponders*

Well, according to amazon, and in the UK at least.

Much sympathy on spoilers.

Yes ... if you want the protein ... it's got to be the real deal for me too. I can totally empathise.

On the other hand have decided to skip meat this year. In a bid to get healthier. To lose some of the weight that seemed to have crept up on me unawares. To do more exercise too.

Sometimes hard to get the umph to get up and go after chasing this lot round. I think I'm losing some, somewhere. (A skirt that I found rather fitting just before Christmas now fits better ... and is almost loose I dare say. Also a pair of rather close fitting jeans, also seem less close. Which is hopeful)

I don't do the scales thing as ... can you believe it ... we don't have one in the house. I take a quick sneak peek when I am at my sister's sometimes, but that's it. Scales are just much too disheartening.

That aside ... I hope you will eventually have a go at Reichenbach Falls ... it *IS* pretty Moffat-ish ... but I rather enjoyed most of it. I do get how some of it can make one cringe though - so sympathies.

You have my admiration. I couldn't skip meat entirely, even if I don't eat it every day. Besides, I know what I need to cut out to lose weight-- starch and sugar-- and that's what I can't possibly do without.

The scales are a necessity for me. I need to see my weight ever morning, to the last decimal place, or I can't resist the starch and sugar later in the day.

But Moriarty is just sooooo yuck!
