Variant on the summertime blues

The weather has been beautiful: sunny, cool, dry. Blue skies, singing cicadas. But I seem unable to parse beautiful August weather any more. It makes no impression and leaves no memory. Today however the clouds moved in and the world went faux-autumnal grey; and at once I felt my outlines firming up, as it were, and the world turning rational again.

This evening there was woodsmoke on the air, and then it was perfect.

A quilt with Heian gentlemen on it will have to join the to-sew list, and I will need to watch out for some more fabric in browns and golds to go with it. ;)

Some love the summer, some survive it.

The fonts on this browser and my myopic morning state had me reading your desired object as yami. 'She's reading Yami no Matsuei? A little late for that?' Look again. Yam. That makes no sense...? Oh of course, yarn: that which my addicted friends crave in quantity. ^_^
