I too have been rereading the entire Rivers series! It's immensely well thought out, you can tell Aaronovitch spent a lot of time carefully spining out all the threads of all his plots, as well as working on the worldbuilding, which is incredibly seamless. I definitely agree that he rewards rereading; I can poke into some of the corners of his world and get little extra hints of what's going on.
