Small FYI to American bloggers

Labour Day is a holiday in Canada too, and we too celebrate it the first weekend in September. Agreed, it's not Labor Day because it has a u in it, but the idea is the same. And while we're at it, other countries do not all celebrate their labo(u)r days in May. IIRC Oz and Kiwi tend to have it in October, and Japan has Labor Thanksgiving Day in November. (I'm not sure that's meant to be thanks for labour, but from the land that turned 'Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to work we go' into 'Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, shigoto ga suki' [= I love work!] it sounds only too likely.)

Have been itching to mention this for two days now, and now I have, and feel better. Thank you.

Yes, this! Why do Americans think they are the only ones with a Labour Day? >.>

Deleted and reposted as reply, I hope

The one that got me was from someone who calls themselves 'the honourary Canadian.' I think not.

Dull, in all senses of the word. But cool and thus happy.
