Also ... I remember reading "What Maisie Knew" and being ... uncertain... as to what I was supposed to 'get' from it. It just didn't 'do' anything for me at all, and I'm not even quite sure why I picked it up in the first place. Oh dear. That sounds really bad doesn't it.
