All I can think of is that dragons are, umm, rambunctious and no respecters of persons. I mean, lots of them are rivers that break their bounds, flood the plains, and kill hundreds of thousands of people. LET'S RAPE is the flood phenomenon put into a sexual context, if you follow me.

If half that article is true, the editions of Liao Zhai and other folktales which I read (and found rather tame by comparison to Southeast Asian horror stories) must have been bowdlerized to within an inch of their lives XD

Am tempted to trawl Yahoo China for more info on those links, especially the Rabbit God of Fujian province (my ancestral home). Am also awfully intrigued by the possibilities in The Farmer and The Pig.

I'm not seeing a direct link between Liao Zhai and the folk tales mentioned (sideways) on the wiki page. If bowdlerized, I fancy it was by Pu Songling himself. Alas, experience has taught me that gay webpages tend to take liberties interpreting their sources, supposing a source is cited in the first place. An awful lot of it seems yo come down to 'this I read that another man read of a carl in Norroway.'
