'What date sticks in your memory?' May 12 for me.
That was the day I went to Tokyo in 1991, make or break; it was also the day the last episode of Papuwa came out in 1995, all doki-doki apprehensiveness as to how she'd end the thing; was, more unhappily, when we moved daycares in 2002. May 12 is a day when things happen. And poking around the files tonight, I see from my passport for '85-'90, that May 12 was the day I first set foot in Japan, in 1989. Things happen indeed.
