Because it was a cold and snowy and bitterly windy day yesterday, I... went out and cashed my paycheque at the bank machine and bought strawberries. Otherwise I'd have failed in my Canadianly duty. (Did not shovel. The snow wouldn't stay in one place long enough for that. See: wind, above.) Then I created a Goodreads membership and looked at people's book lists. I'm cheered that half the books on Best Books In The World also appear on Worst Books In The World. De gustibus etc, though why would anyone hate The Life of Pi that much?
Alas, I'm finding Locke Lamora less than enthralling. This is only partly because of an earworm that sings 'How are things in Locke Lamora?' at me every time I open the book.

Anyway. I shall say no more!

Plus gender issues. Oh well. Train reading, maybe.

(why are buying strawberries specifically a patriotic duty over there? not maple syrup?)

I have no problem with Kaneshiro!Liang; he does exactly what I expect Zhuge Liang to do. (http://rasetsunyo.livejournal.com/73487.html) I'm not with rasetsunyo on Tony Leung either; he has a potato-ish face, and when he and Zhuge go forehead to forehead his deficiencies appear the more strongly. Good actor, of course, but what's *that* compared to looks, says the shallow fangirl.

i first thought (in a very shallow way) Kaneshiro would be more suited to play Zhou. But then there is the tradition of pretty!Zhuge in animanga (i think i was alerted to this by you sometime ago...)
[Guy who actually played Zhou stared in a lot of Hong Kong soaps shown on local TV during my formative years. I've watched him and whathisname who played Zhao Yun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resurrection_of_the_Dragon) *headdesk* playing cops/robbers too often to ever take them seriously.]
