November stats

Isak Dinesen, Last Tales
Pratchett, The Amazing Maurice
Crowley, Engine Summer
Holdstock, Lavondyss

One book a week, all in English. As few as September and for the same reason. Staff having physical and family problems and me working for them on top of my ordinary shifts. Plus, in this case, a few pages more of story worked at, and actually finishing one (which was almost finished anyway.) There's a long weekend in December that might provide the happy holiday reading, but I fancy it's more likely to involve the slow holiday writing.

I would definitely not call that much anything to be embarrassed about!

I don't think I've read that much in a whole year, and that on top of all the work you're pulling as well! And yes I know you can argue that I DO have a full plate mytself ... still I wish I could fit in more reading.

I did manage to read some poetry though ... I found a book of translated haiku (haiku by Masaoka Shiki trans. by Burton Watson) in the library. Which fit those in between times. ^__^

You have two small children and a husband and aging parents: hence you have no time. When I come home from a straight eight or nine hour day my time is still my own. I could read if I wanted to, and the fact that I do crosswords instead is my choice. It's just at month's end that I repine.
