Drive-by update

Good: Firefox now keeps me logged in to lj.
Bad: Firefox now tells me the plug-in at Overheard in NY has committed an illegal action and must be shut down. The plug-in???

Best: [livejournal.com profile] sho_sunaga, if you didn't get the answer I left to the comment you left me six weeks ago that lj never told me about (stops for breath) your package came and thank you very much. Opened by Revenue Canada because (I think) you didn't say what was inside, or else the label fell off. This doubtless explains the +4 weeks added on to the usual 2 weeks from Anywhere Near Tokyo. RevCan takes its time.

The weather has been dropping below freezing and some trees have begun to change colour. Finally. Three weeks after they should have and about the time they usually drop their leaves. But a great number of them are a) still green and b) still on the trees, even though other trees are bare. This confuses me more than anything since Tokyo.
Conversation with friend, somewhere on the Inokashira line, ca. January 1993-
Me: Nice trees there. Pity about the big dead one in front.
Her: It's not dead, it's deciduous.

Ahh speaking of post..will go into Kino to get you Reload8 tomorrow morning and will post it Tues. The ladies at the post office tells me that it takes 12 to 14 working days to Canada, why it takes so long, I (and they too) have no idea.

Are you sure you don't want anything else added to it? ^__^

And then it's off to pick up the in-laws. A crazy end to the crazy year!!

If it continues to be a problem, you could always subscribe to the LJ feed, which is here:

I bought myself a new rake yesterday. If the leaves ever decide to fall, I am so ready!

The tree-turning lateness is odd indeed; usually by now I'm raking and raking. With the abrupt turn in weather, I wonder if I might find that instead of having to rake leaves, they might end up under a layer of early snow at some point. (except they predict a run back up to nearly 70 next week, just to confuse us all).

It's a long way from LRD to the frozen northland. If surface only takes three weeks I'm impressed: it's a good five weeks from Japan. (Of course, if it's *air* mail that takes 12 to 14 working days- then it's exactly the same as an air package from Toronto to Seattle, which is only over a border across 2/3 the width of this mighty continent. In sum: post offices are strange.)

Quite sure, thank you. Your own package went off last Tuesday I think: I discovered a workaround to those heavy djs which I hope will work well, even if it meant a few of the kind of story you said you didn't want. OTOH all my Goujun shousetsu djs have gone walkies except the one that came by itself. They should be *right here* in the study and aren't. This is why one ought never to tidy up: you'll never find things again.

Have fun with the in-laws.

Ah, thanks. May use that. Or I may just view in IE, though I always think of OHiNY as a Firefox site...

I keep expecting snow on the leaves too. We're back up to mid-50s this week, not *too* much above average. Supposed to dip below zero the night after, which may encourage the leaves to fall. I mean, the Santa Claus parade is next weekend, which traditionally kicks off Christmas in TO, not infrequently to the accompaniment of flurries. It behooves nature to get a move on here.
