Jiip drabble for Zan

i_am_zan (and anyone else who celebrates, of course.) It was yesterday in Singapore, I believe, but what's a few time zones between friends.
One gives presents on Eid, of course.
Hakkai hates rainy nights, yes. The sound of rain brings with it a crawling anxiety, the first hint of the enormous black thing that comes lumbering in its wake: horror and despair reaching to strangle his soul. He takes deep breaths to steady his thundering heart, warm his frozen hands. Jiip flutters over from the bed and lands on his shoulder: heavy, soft, alive.
Hakkai looses a little shiver of breath, not exactly laughter, not entirely hysteria. "My watch-dragon," he says.
Jiip's long neck loops about Hakkai's and his breath puffs in Hakkai's ear. 'Kyuu,' he cheeps: believe it, Marshal.

Thank you for the Eid greetings!
For a 'quiet' Eid we still had a fair amount of human traffic through and it felt like a hundred children were running around the place. Well it was closer to 8~10 at any one time but oh!
I do take my hat off to you and others who work with children on a regular basis, I only have two. My mother laughs at me and says... "ahahaha you ONLY have 2, I had four of you" .... of course my grandmother laughed at HER and used to say "ahahaha you only have 4" (my mother has three brothers and three sisters.) ^__^
Anyway my 'quiet Eid' still has me with aching legs and a sore throat!!! >.< But the children had fun, the hubby too!
Thank you again. It's lovely to wake up on a Sunday morning to find wonderful treats like this!

Two children of your kids' ages are more than enough for me. Ten is a killer. I've worked preschool and I *know*. Give me babies that you can plug with a soother or a bottle and return to blessed silence.
