Hahahhaa! I like how it seemed TOTALLY plausible to the contractors that Canadian quarters would be used as spy devices. XD

Of course, my first reaction to the poppy quarter was to try to scratch 'n' sniff it. It seems like that childhood habit hasn't left me yet.

It's not like we don't have batshit idiocy of our own, mind. The province of Quebec's current uhh I was going to say jihad against the head veil is an especially cringeworthy example. Soccer, judo, badminton no doubt- nope nope safety hazard what if it gets caught? can't do those sports with that head gear even if it's the special safety version of same with the quick release velcro, and you *can* play those sports with a long ponytail that, naturally, never gets caught in anything.
