I do intend Nicholas to have heroic bits in him, if that will help

(amused, tries to imagine a navel-gazing noir hero with Issues that prevent him from dealing with danger head-on. Noir heroes do have issues, as I recall, but the whole point is that the issues don't stop them acting.)
