1) Total number of films I own on DVD/Video.
Counting anime? 10, maybe. Plus a bunch of Japan Society stuff from the 80's in-a-box-in-the-basement.
2) The last film I bought
Peking Opera Blues, last summer.
3) The last film I watched
All the way through? Mononoke Hime.
4) Five films I watch a lot that mean a lot to me:
I almost never rewatch films these days; come to that I rarely watch films period. I always feel anxious before a film starts: something to do with the expectation of NOISE and violence and unrelenting sensory overstimulation. Sticking to anime helps. I'd like to see Sen to Chihiro again because it's magic, but in a theatre because the blah DVD/VHS colours make me cry. Otherwise I'd go see The Wanderer, Ijintachi to no Natsu, Demon Pond (a Shinoda Masahiro film that had Tamasaburo Bandou playing the heroine) and maybe The Seventh Seal again if they ever showed up, because they were magic as well.
