Took me an immense time to realize what Kyou Kara Maou means. That last word I vaguely thought was the Chinese reading of cat- Kyou kara wagahai wa neko de aru. Vague FYish plot of schoolboy who falls into a book and becomes a cat in ancient China. (There *is* a cartoon- western- that has cats in ancient China, I know that much.) Or maybe the first character was a proper name- Mews from Kyou (nyan-chan.)

Sleep-deprived and allergy-drugged brain is saying didn't someone go down a toilet bowl in some Harry Potter novel? And Gravity's Rainbow. And I'm almost sure it happened in The Beautiful Ones are Not Yet Born, if you want to get really obscure. This series has a solid literary background, I'll have you know.

Moaning Myrtle died in a toilet in HP. She looked at the Bascilisk(sp) just as she was stepping out. This bit comes out in book 2, although I think she pops up later too.

There's also a Japanese horror story...toire no hanako-san or something or other, of a girl phanton who comes out of a toilet...or something.

(confused) What is Sagua? The cats in China? Sounds a very unChinese name to me. It may be an abomination but I was pleased to see something that wasn't round-eyed kids for a change (or Lily the Chinese conjuror's daughter.)

Sa gua means fool. The kanji are for silly and gourd. The siblings names are, if I recall correctly, winter melon (dong gua)and water melon (shi gua).

The title of the book and the cartoon is something like 'Sagua the Chinese Siamese Cat' and is all about this kitten in ancient China who gets into trouble and how wise and insightful the kitten turns out to be in the end due to it's simplistic childlike point of view. The messages and values and examples are all politically correct American. That the setting is China is 'shrug' because most of the information in it is either superficial or inaccurate on account of being simplified for little children or possibly outright wrong, though I'm not sure on it being wrong because I don't watch the show. It's very popular with the 2 and 3 year old set.

I suppose abomination was too strong a word, but I was in a bad mood. Sorry.
