A calm winter's day spent entirely indoors because joints are not happy and it snowed last night. Somewhere in the house are copies of The Silmarillion and Lost Tales but I can't find them. Read Rebus instead. Bro and s-i-l came by to pick up boxes of files to be shredded. ('Never become a lawyer,' says bro. 'They use too much paper.') I suppose this is what it will be like post-knee surgery. Ah well. I've survived post-surgery house-boundness before. Even hospital-boundness. But I was much more cheerful forty years ago.

I actually don't mind being housebound when the weather is against going out. Am not looking forward to it in May when the weather is good, but hey, I may not *want* to go anywhere with my knee sliced open. See: post hernia operation, 2004, when I was quite happy to rest in bed.
