Not sure why a sip of Pepsi at 9 should have led to such a sleepless night but it did. Or maybe it was celestial configurations working against me. After an hour or so of gardening that left me sweat-soaked, an hour's walk, and forty minutes of bike machine, I expected to sleep well, but instead it was hours before I finally drifted off and then I kept waking out of obscure dreams. The consequence was that I woke very limber as, unfairly, I tend to do after bad nights.

So went off to the laundromat with flannel duvet covers and terrycloth towels. Owner has finally replaced most of his broken machines, hurrah, with more expensive ones, boo. I could have should have used the $4 one but didn't quite twig to the pricing, and anyway the duvet cover is a large heavy beast, so wash alone cost me $6.  Chatty older gentleman complained that everything is getting more expensive and wages and benefits aren't matching that. I didn't remark that my property taxes have actually decreased by $60 a month, for which I'm grateful. Though now I'm not sure that the reason the first half of the year is so high is because you don't pay in January: but surely they merely average the yearly rate over eleven months rather than twelve?

Did some more vine pulling and cherry sweeping jn the back yard and dragged two full bags to the front for tomorrow's pick up. I notice I'm much steadier on my feet than a year ago, which is good, but sheesh the lower back hates me. And I really don't know what to do about that. There's currently no air quality warning from the fires, but the sky was TO pollution grey-blue and my sinuses are unhappy. But then it's also stinky flower season, whatever that us: mock orange or lindens or whatever, and my sinuses object to stinky flowers.
