I think I shall inform the next Indian call centre spammer pretending to be Amazon or Visa or Revenue Canada that the Chinese are muscling in on their racket. Had a cell phone call from one this morning at 8:15 which I didn't catch in time because my phone was charging. Rolled over and back to sleep, woke at 10 in blissful AC coolness, cell rang again, voice informed me in English that I had a parcel at the Chinese Embassy, as if. Now for all I know, if I press 1, I might get yet another Indian accent, but lord knows I've had enough robo mandarin calls to be fairly sure it's the People's Republic behind this. Who have finally realized that not that many Canucks have a clue what they're talking about.
One advantage of window AC is that I don't want to leave my bedroom, so got through a good set of exercises before venturing out. Day was heavy and humid and I ordered in Vietnamese banh mi which I shouldn't because there's a lot if bread in a banh mi. But there's a lot of veg too, which is what I like, and whatever that sauce is, and actually very minimal amounts of protein. Hadn't noticed how dark it was getting, but then the heavens opened, and I worried about my poor driver. But it stopped before he arrived and a fresh wind blew and by late afternoon it was all glorious green summer again: of which there has been a lot lately, even when the days are hot. Not that I'm likely to remember it as such because July doesn't stick in the brane, but I note it here in case at some point it does.
Otherwise did 30 minutes on the bike and filled out my property tax rebate request and that was the sum total of accomplishment for the day.
