Did something I haven't done in years (five, it turns out): went out to a movie. I've wanted to see Encanto for a while but I don't stream and thought my chances slim. However, the local RC church shows free films outdoors in summer, or rather, has gone back to showing free films outdoors, and today they were showing Encanto, so I went. I thought a long-sleeved shirt would be warm enough in this coolish spell; wasn't, because there was a breeze in the mini-wind tunnel in the church grounds, and also: grass. Should have worn a hoodie.
I'm out of the habit of watching films. My attention didn't wander but I couldn't tell you the sequence of the action. Who tells Mirabel to look in Bruno's tower? When did she find him in the walls? When does the house fall down? Lord I miss DVD rental places. Also seeing it on a wavy screen with ambient city light pollution does fade the visual impression a lot, which may be part of it. But anyway, glad to have seen it finally, an to have got out of the house and out of myself for a bit.
