Very disconcerting thing last night. Woke in the wee hours with my elbow very painful in an entirely new way. Babied it a bit, went back to sleep, in the morning it was pretty much all better, just a little sore. No idea what caused it, just hope it doesn't happen again.
Neighbourhood FB groups report multiple break-ins, or more often walk-ins in the middle of the day. Other people keep their doors unlocked in the daytime too, and people walk in, grab purses, and walk out. I suppose I must stop my reckless habit of leaving my house unlocked when I go out and for that I need to get my key back from my friend, because when it comes to keys I'm a belt and braces type. One in the pocket, one in the backpack.
Muggy today and a p.m. downpour. Watched it bucket down but realized that sidewalk across the street was still dry in spite of monsoon. My two trees don't block the rain but evidently the maple over there does, and most efficiently too.
Tree in the Annex came crashing down because carpenter ants had hollowed it out. Two cars damaged but no people. As ever, it looked perfectly healthy, but now I worry about the towering maple four doors up.
