Read Tom Holt's Nothing But Blue Skies. Fun and frothy and about dragons, but is it just me or does Holt leave out err necessary sentences indicating plot developments that happen while you're following another bunch of characters? Kept getting a sense of lacuna in the action, so I finally gave up saying 'Wait, why are we here?' and just went along for the ride.

Can bicycle again. This should make knee happier but doesn't. Me, I think knee is only happy with gout meds, and celebrex doesn't cut it. A pity, given how much the rest of me reacts to gout meds.

Is that the one with the dragons being involved with cricket matches being rained off? I think I remember being amused by it, but like you, finding it a bit frothy but lacking in matter.

That's the one. Bank holidays etc. Rained out because the weather man said it would be sunny. And then the weatherman (but I've already forgotten which) turns out to be mostly dragon himself in a way that's not explained etc etc.

Did hear about the book from your LJ back a dozen years ago. :-)

That rings a bell. I think I may have speculated that was where Goujun spent a summer vacation, or something. ;)
