Via [livejournal.com profile] athenais, 80s musicians thirty years on, aging not as gracefully as all that.

Reflex reactions:
1) you know what I didn't do in the 80s? Listen to music, evidently.

2) a 60s child is going to have no sympathy at all for your grief. Have you *seen* Mick Jagger lately? ^_^

(Who still looks a hella lot better than Peter Noone or Gerry Marsden or Peter Yarrow or or or. But you know who's aged nicely into his face? Ringo Starr. This pleases me. Not only still alive, but looking just as good as the group's Designated Pretty Boy.)

There's a great deal of laughing going on over here. Yes, we have seen Mick Jagger lately. LOL!

Jagger has one of those faces that Always Looked Like That. Keep the weight off and you're OK. The guys that go puffy are the ones that make me understand mortality.

Ringo OTOH has benefited from not having to shave anymore; his skin never did care for it.

Funnily enough I just remember being really impressed by the bands I've managed to see live. Devo aren't arch or anything, they rock ferociously. And OMD have aged into a British sort of dashing gentlemanly distinction; they could still pull off ruffled shirts if they wanted to, would look like marble statues of Nelson's middle-aged commandants.
